The Upscale or let’s call it “posh neighborhoods”

Oyster Bay, Masaki and Sea View :These are renowned upscale residential areas famous for their luxurious homes, embassies, and international schools. These neighborhoods are located along the coast, with sea front properties, so it’s no wonder they are a popular choice for expatriates and well-off locals. The Coco Beach area in Masaki is a hotspot for leisure and entertainment and offers a mix of modern amenities, restaurants, and recreational facilities.

Dar es City Center and Upanga, and Kariakoo
Dar es Salaam's city center is the commercial and administrative heart of the city. Here you'll find government buildings, historical sites, markets, and a mix of old and new architecture. The area now extends to the Ununio and Mbweni, which are mostly characterized by New Modern houses and Ocean Views. This group consists mostly of luxury residential houses but  far from the city center. Expect to face long traffic hours when you choose this area.Houses here are cheaper compared to Masaki and Oysterbay but far from the city center.

Tegeta, Sala Sala, Goba, Boko, Bunju, Makongo Juu, Kijitonyama, Sinza

Mbezi Juu and Kimara are not only residential areas with a mix of housing options that cater to middle-income residents, but this is the area with the main and largest bus stand in Tanzania. It’s the gate to enter and leave Dar es Salaam from other regions. So apart from being characterized by its local markets, shops, and community-oriented atmosphere, the main road is highly congested because of the buses and lorries.

Buguruni, Mwananyamala, Tandale, Mburahati and Magomeni are densely populated areas with a mix of middle and lower-income residents. is a neighborhood with a mix of housing types and a diverse population. They offer more affordable living options and access to basic amenities.

And lastly, Kigamboni has a range of all middle, and low scale residences but what really makes it special is that you have to cross the ocean daily either over the bridge or by Ferry. A typical adventure
